01 / Purposeful giving

Why support our work?

Educational and religious institutions play an important part in sustaining Orthodox Jewish life. Through teaching, study, worship and observance, they help traditions remain part of everyday communal life.

Our Trust collects charitable funds and distributes grants to organisations established to advance Orthodox Jewish education and religion. Contributions received by the Trust form part of the resources available for consideration in accordance with our charitable purposes.

We recognise that charitable giving involves confidence and responsibility. Our trustees oversee the use of funds, and support for any organisation is considered in the context of our stated objectives and resources.

04 / Generosity and responsibility

The meaning of Chesed

The Hebrew word Chesed is commonly associated with kindness, generosity and care for others. We recognise its close connection to the idea of using resources to benefit others.

For our Trust, thoughtful giving is accompanied by a responsibility to administer resources for the purposes for which they are held. That is why our charitable focus remains clearly defined.

SUPPORTING OUR PURPOSE

Considering a contribution

We want supporters to understand the purpose of their giving.

Our Trust’s objectives are defined: collecting and distributing charitable funds in support of organisations advancing Orthodox Jewish education and religion. Those considering making a contribution are encouraged to learn about the work of the Trust, review its official registration and contact us directly about practical arrangements.

A contribution to the Trust is not automatically a payment to a particular school, synagogue or project. Funds are administered in accordance with the charitable purposes of the Trust, and decisions about grants rest with the trustees. If a supporter wishes to propose any conditions on a gift, these should be discussed before a contribution is made.

We ask supporters to verify donation instructions through our established contact address. The website does not ask visitors to enter bank-card details or transfer money through a payment form.

SUPPORTING OUR PURPOSE

The importance of sustained support

Religious knowledge and practice depend on institutions that can continue their work.

Organisations dedicated to learning and religious practice may serve their communities for many years. Their work involves teaching, maintaining places for study and worship, helping people participate and preserving access to religious traditions.

Our charitable focus recognises the value of these continuing responsibilities. Rather than presenting a fixed list of named beneficiaries on this website, we explain the types of purposes that fall within the Trust’s objectives. This avoids creating misleading expectations about whether a specific institution receives support.

We welcome a conversation with prospective supporters who want to understand our approach. That conversation may cover our charitable purpose, public registration information and how to contact us about making a contribution.
