The trust exists to support organisations set up to further orthodox Jewish education and religious life. By concentrating on these two enduring aims, we make sure that every grant serves a clear and lasting purpose.

Supporting organisations dedicated to orthodox Jewish learning and the teaching of the next generation — the study that has stood at the centre of Jewish life for millennia.
Jewish religious life
Supporting organisations that further orthodox Jewish religious practice, observance and the institutions around which the life of the community turns.

A grant-making trust
Rather than running its own services, the trust acts as a bridge between those who wish to give and the organisations doing the work on the ground. Funds are collected, held responsibly and distributed in keeping with our charitable purpose.
This model has real advantages. It means the trust's overheads stay low and its focus stays sharp. It means donors can give once, to a purpose they trust, knowing the trustees will direct their gift where it is needed. And it means the organisations we support — the schools, the institutions of learning, the bodies that sustain religious life — can concentrate on what they do best.
How the trustees decide
Every distribution is considered by the trustees against one test: does it further orthodox Jewish education or religion, in keeping with the trust's registered object? The trustees bring to that question a deep knowledge of the community and its institutions, and a duty — legal and moral — to apply the trust's funds faithfully.

Our role
The bridge between giving and good
We connect the generosity of supporters with the organisations best placed to further Jewish education and religion. It is a quiet role, but for more than sixty years it has been a faithful one.
